Balayage in Surrey

Looking for hair colour with softness, brightness, and dimension? At Doria Salon, Spa & Laser in Surrey, we tailor your colour to your starting shade, the look you want, and how you prefer to maintain it. Whether you have a subtle refresh in mind or want a brighter transformation, your stylist will help plan an approach that suits your hair.

Balayage Tailored to You

Balayage can create a soft transition between darker and lighter tones, with colour placed to bring out movement and dimension. The finished look can range from understated warmth to a brighter blonde result.

A consultation is an important part of planning balayage, particularly if your hair has been coloured before or you want a major colour change. We’ll assess your hair, discuss what can realistically be achieved, and help plan the right amount of time with your stylist.

What Is Balayage?

Balayage is an approach to creating blended, dimensional colour. Compared with a more uniform pattern of highlights, the placement can be customized to emphasize the areas where you want brightness. Your Doria stylist may recommend a particular lightening and toning plan based on your starting point and desired finish.

If you’re unsure whether balayage, ombré, or highlights will give you the result you want, contact Doria. Sharing a photo of your current hair and one or two inspiration photos can help us arrange the right consultation and service.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Your appointment begins with a consultation about your colour goals and hair history. Your stylist will assess your starting shade, discuss achievable results, and plan the placement, brightness, and tone. This is especially important for previously coloured hair or a major lightening change.

Doria lists balayage under Full Blonding / Ombré / Balayage. Because the work and time needed vary from person to person, please contact the salon to arrange your appointment. Our team will book the correct service and allow enough time with your stylist.

Keeping Your Colour Looking Its Best

The right maintenance routine depends on your tone and how much contrast you want to keep. Your stylist can recommend when to return for a toner, refresh, or another colour appointment, along with products suited to your hair.

Some blended looks grow out softly, while lighter or cooler tones may need more frequent attention. We’ll help you choose a result that fits both your goals and your routine.

Balayage FAQs

1What is the difference between balayage and highlights?
Both can add brightness and dimension. Balayage describes a customized approach to colour placement that often creates a softer transition. Traditional highlights may be a better fit if you want a different pattern of brightness or more lift closer to the roots. Your stylist can help you decide. Check out our list of complete hair colour services.
2What’s the difference between balayage and ombré?
Balayage uses customized placement to create dimension and a blended finish. Ombré describes a more noticeable transition from darker roots to lighter ends. The two can sometimes be combined; your stylist can help determine which look and approach suits your hair.
3Will balayage work on dark or previously coloured hair?
It may be possible, but your starting colour and colour history affect the plan and the results that can be achieved in one visit. Contact Doria before booking a major change, especially if your hair has been coloured at home or lightened previously.
4Is balayage low maintenance?
It can have a softer-looking grow-out, but maintenance depends on the shade, level of lightness, and contrast you choose. Your stylist can recommend a realistic refresh schedule.
5How long does a balayage appointment take?
Plan for approximately four hours. The time needed can vary with your starting colour, hair length and density, and the result you want. Contact Doria so we can reserve enough time with the right stylist.
6Do I need a consultation first?
Yes, a consultation is very important, especially if your hair has been coloured previously or you are planning a major colour or lightening change. It allows us to assess your hair, discuss achievable results, and provide a more accurate quote.
7Can I book balayage online?
Balayage and other colour services are not available for online booking through Fresha. Please contact Doria so we can select the correct service and reserve enough time with your stylist.
